Alternative Designs was formed in 1994 as a design and manufacturing services company. The company was incorporated in 1996 and became Alternative Designs Inc.

Since then we have offered design and manufacturing services to a broad range of industries. Projects ranging from lighting, automation systems, injection moulded part design, to custom machinery for neutron radiography and solar cooking.

What We Do

We have manufactured products for applications such as factory automation, neutron radiography, consumer health products, and water purification equipment.

As well, we have manufactured numerous precision machined components for a broad range of applications including electrical test fixtures, hovercraft, electronic devices, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and water ozonators.

Sustainability

We have a particular interest in projects that assist in creating environmental sustainability such as solar / wind power systems and vehicles powered by alternative fuel sources.

We have provided services for projects that assist those in need. One such project was the design and development of a new water filter technology that is being implemented in Bangladesh. This system was designed to filter naturally occurring arsenic and provide healthy drinking water to the villages in the region.
